Why the class treasurer ends up the villain

Every class chat has one. The parent who said “I can collect” in September. By October they are posting receipts, answering “did everyone pay?” at eleven at night, and covering the missing forty from their own card because it is easier than asking again.

By December they are the villain. Not because anyone thinks they took anything. Because nobody can see what they see, and in a group chat, silence always sounds like suspicion.

You have probably heard one of these, or said it yourself: “I felt I had to justify every flower.” “Somebody asked for the receipt twice.” “Never again, not for any money.”

The problem is not trust. It is visibility. So the fix is not a more reliable parent. It is a better setup.

In a class modu, the treasurer pays from the shared money right at the shop, by card or QR. The payment lands in the same history for every parent in the same second. There is nothing to screenshot, because everyone is already looking at the same screen.

Who has paid, who has not, how much is left for the graduation: it is simply there. The treasurer stops being a suspect and becomes what they always were, the parent with the busiest afternoon.
